An original pedal box (customer supplied) that has been modified to a bias pedal box assembly, suitable for an Escort Mk1 using a hydraulic clutch. By use of two brake master cylinders of different sizes linked by a balance bar, it allows the proportion of braking pressure between the front and rear to be adjusted. With the addition of an optional dash mounted bias adjuster, it is also possible to adjust the brake bias whilst moving to compensate for changes in driving conditions (eg track changing from dry to wet during a race).
Master cylinders supplied as standard are 0.625" (front), 0.700" (rear) and 0.625" (clutch). On request we can change the cylinders to any combination of 0.625", 0.700" and 0.750". We can also supply genuine Girling cylinders at extra cost - this cost is the difference between the standard and Girling cylinders (currently £83.61 + VAT for three at September 2016, but subject to change).
Customer must supply own unit for modification. Allow at least 4 weeks for modification. Pedal boxes are modified with extra bracket to hold the master cylinders, brake pedal is modified to take balance bar and assembly is supplied with master cylinders, balance bar, locknuts and bolts.
Note that this pedal box is part of a brake upgrade that will require additional parts including reservoirs and custom brake pipes.Application:
