DetailsContains a 4.0L Electric (102-400-003) plus a 2.4L AFFF (201-100-003) hand-held at a special combined price.
102-400-003: For touring and rally cars there is no better foam-based system. Distributes 2L of extinguishant to the engine through two nozzles and 2L of extinguishant to the cockpit through two nozzles. The electric system is activated by pressing a strategically mounted momentary push button. All electrical systems have their own independent power pack that has facilities for checking the battery strength and circuit continuity as well as giving a visible indication that the system is armed. The kit also contains a cockpit & external switch with leads, 4 nozzles, T piece, 10mm tubing and pipe clips.
201-100-003: Portable 2.4L AFFF hand-held extinguisher for international rallyingLifeline Zero 2000 is not just an extinguishant but also an integrated system, the compound itself being specially blended to cope with the rigorous demands of motorsport. An integral part of the Zero 2000 system is the specifically designed atomiser nozzle. The device divides the foam into minute particles, smothering the fire with a fine mist that forms an invisible seal over the target area, cooling and thus preventing re-ignition. There are many factors to consider when choosing which fire system to go for:
Class of racing:
MSA regulations require a minimum of a 1.75 litre hand-held unit or 2.25 litre plumbed-in system from the Zero 2000 MSA approved range. Rally cars must carry both a hand-held and a plumbed-in system.
FIA regulations require a minimum of a 2.4 litre hand-held unit or 4.0 litre plumbed-in system (3.12 litre for open top historic cars) from the Zero 2000 FIA approved range. Rally cars must carry both a hand-held and a plumbed-in system (regulations in Ireland require 2 hand-helds plus a plumbed-in system).
Every racer has a budget for their motorsport and Lifeline provide a number of different systems to cater for all budgets.
Safety and insurance:
Class regulations specify a minimum requirement for fire safety equipment. However we recommended considering the best system for your needs that your budget will allow. Regulations only specify a minimum, not a maximum. Not only is the system there to save life/prevent injury, it could be the only thing that prevents total loss of your race car so it should be considered as part of an insurance plan.
