Machined from L169TF alloy, this main case is a replacement....

Machined from L169TF alloy, this main case is a replacement for the original production cast iron item. Saves approx 4.5kg. Incorporates a brass magnetic oil drain plug which is not included in the Ford casing. The filler is also a brass magentic plug and is positioned further forward for better access in kit cars. Machined to take the correct late V6 front layshaft bearing stub (available under part number GBT9530). Although the casing’s bellhousing mounting holes are threaded to accept the standard bolt, the casing has been modified to allow additional clearance behind the mounting lugs. This means the holes can be drilled out for quick release mounting and a cap head bolt head will fit flush against the lug - unlike other makes where the shoulder of the bolt will foul on the casing creating a pressure point.
Note that the layshaft spindle secures to the front of the maincase with a HD stub design. The bellhousing will need to be machined to clear it.
